Every year, working with Leonard Phillips and his team of photographers, editors and craftsmen, I write the commentary for the two Golden Age of Flight calendars. One is a beautiful wall-size version, while the other is a smaller daily reader. The Golden Age wall calendar has two spectacular photos for each month, along with a three-view illustration, specifications, and my commentary. The daily Golden Age desk calendar has a different airplane on every page. Each entry is fresh, and delivers some lesser known information on the type. There is a good mixture of warbirds and civil aircraft, and the provenance of the aircraft is indicated when known. We have to work a year ahead of time of course, so the 2012 calendar is already in process and the work on the 2013 will begin soon. Calendars are available at www.gladstonemedia.com, and fine bookstores everywhere.
